it's finally pumpkin time...
Pumpkins make me happy. I don't know if it is because it means the beginning of fall or it is just inborn if one happens to have an October birthday. I have been to Trader Joe's three times to get them and I haven't even spotted the white ones yet. They will make me happy all the way through Thanksgiving weekend. Then we'll roast the seeds and leave the rest for the bunnies to enjoy.
Lovely leaves from my lovely, too-far-away daughter who collected and preserved them for my birthday last year. She knows her mama well.
Pumpkins make me happy.

Beautiful, Barbara. Pics are so sharp!
I am not ready for pumpkins yet. It is till beach weather, though cooler at night. Give me a week!
Thanks for stopping by, it always reminds me to come be delighted at your place!
Oh, and in about a month, we will be drowning in leaves. So if you know anyone who wants them, they are theirs!
Wonderful decor! I love the Books wall hanging you have. Thanks for stopping by at Crafty Housewife!
ha! i think having an october birthday definitely contributes as to why i love the fall, as well. i'm going to attempt to do a giveaway in honor of it, but we'll see how that goes. i have to figure out how to number the comments first.
your pumpkins are wonderful, and i love those dried leaves! i haven't gotten any real pumpkins yet.
Such pretty pictures! I love the stack of old books, too.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and for the nice comments..
Stop by again, soon!
I am from the desert, too (AZ)
I, like you, love pumpkins! My house is full of them.
Thanks for your visit to my blog and for your sweet comment.
I love the pumpkins....but the old books are just fabulous! Linda
Beautiful photos! I have some fall decor out, but I haven't purchased any pumpkins yet. Thanks for the nice comment on my daughter's party post :)
Hi Barbara,
yes, Pumpkins are funny buddies. I love the different colors and shapes. They make cheap and nice decorations and their happiness is eaven perceptible in a pumpkin soup. Wish you a nice fall.
Greetings, Johanna
Wonderful job, I'm another one who loved the stack of old books! Everything looked so warm and inviting. Thanks for sharing and for visiting.

I love pumpkins too. How did your daughter preserve the leaves to last more than a few days? Leaves are so beautiful but so delicate.
Love the Raven too.

I also have an October birthday! Maybe we need an October Birthday Tablescape Day! Your pumpkin vignettes are gorgeous, and I love that they all appear to be real. I adore your raven "quothing" Nevermore!
My birthday is the 27th -- and yours?
I am also curious about how your daughter preserved the leaves. They are beautiful!
You've inspired me to actually purchase the gourds and pumpkins that have been popping up at the market. Maybe I'll be lucky and find some local ones at the last farmer's market of the season this weekend. :-)
LOVE your pumpkins and I have been looking for white pumpkins too. They make the absolute BEST soup. Thank you for visiting my blog.

Beautiful vignettes and photos, Barbara!...Christine
Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting on my tablescape! My last table was one that my parents had handed down to me, and I loved it too. It was so versatile and could sit just two people or as many as 10 comfortably. However, my ex-husband took it apart during a move and damaged it and it never worked right again. So when I saw my current table and chairs in a store window, I was delighted to find it on sale, and it's been love ever since.
Just wanted to tell you that pumpkins make me happy too! I just can't wait until this weekend when I might be able to get a few. Your pumpkins look beautiful with the black, and white pumpkins will look great on it too!

I'm with you, Barbara....pumpkins make me happy. There is a market nearby that is a wonderland of pumpkins and gourds this time of year, and the other day I visited and thought I was in heaven as the many photos I took show. You have displayed yours beautifully.
I so love those birds. And the leaves from so far away.. Bittersweet. Beautiful vignettes! thanks for your lovely visit.
Love this post. I am so excited that my pumpkins are turning orange. Thanks for sharing!

Pumpkins make me happy too. All shapes and sizes!
LOVE pumpkins and all your seasonal touches including your nevermore raven! Fall is my favorite season, now if I could just order up some fall weather to go with the season :-)
I love pumpkins also..maybe because they are orange and that is my favorite color!! Great pics!!
Oh your photos are always so perfect! I love the pumpkins. I grew some two years ago, but did not get them planted this year. How does your daughter preserve the leaves?? I would love to know how to do that. Thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see your pieces of wood!
Your photos with the pumpkin makes me happy!
