Just a quick post tonight. I am playing around with tables, planning for Thanksgiving. It is hard to pick a favorite holiday but Thanksgiving is right up there. It is such a pure holiday for me. It is all about being grateful, spending time with family and the food. Oh, how I love Thanksgiving food!
The pumpkins are resting on slices of a fallen aspen limb.
Playing around with placecards. I don't think this will make the final cut but it got me thinking.
Thank you to Sherry for reminding me last week that I had these plates. I bought them when it was a gazillion degrees out, thinking they would be perfect for fall and maybe Thanksgiving. Apparently, the heat got to me because I had forgotten all about them until I saw Sherry's post.
Our plan is to have Thanksgiving outside. The weather has been perfect so far this month but who knows what next Thursday will bring.
Whatever the weather, we have much to be thankful for.

Your table setting is beautiful. The colors are a nice blend. The layering of chargers and plates with the beaded edges give dimension and texture. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.
Those plates are just gorgeous! I can't imagine what it would be like having thanksgiving outside, but I hope things work out favorably for you.
Oh i love your table. Those plates are really wonderful, elegant and very stately. I really liked the personalized thankful cards. What a great idea...
Your plates are beautiful! I love the way you layered them. I agree with you, we have so much to be thankful for! God bless you this Thanksgiving!
Hi! Thanks for stopping by my place earlier! Your table is going to be just fabulous! The placecard idea is really great, and the place settings and napkins (!!!) are fab! I hope you do get to have dinner outside...that would be so great! What I would give to be able to do that...!!! It's already cold here in the Kansas City area and we're expecting cold, grey, windy conditions for Thanksgiving Day according to the long-term forecast. If it's going to be cold, at least it can be grey so that I can light lots of candles! :-) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!!!!!
Oh, I love your place cards.
The salad plates are stunning! Can you actually use them or are they just to display?
Your napkins and chargers coordinate so well. Happy Thanks!
Hi, Thanks for dropping in. I am in love with those plates, so lucky you remembered them. I especially like your placecards...I have been toying with the idea of doing something similiar. With your inspiration I think I will follow through. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving.

I love the soft muted colours you used here, those top plates are just beautiful!
Pretty plates! And, eating outside? Not here, unless we all want to get wet! Thank you for your sweet comment (& giveaway entry). I can't imagine any of my family being so far as your son. But home is in the heart and soul, and I'm sure he's there with you even now.
Thanksgiving blessings to you!
Hugs, Heidi

The fruit plates are stunning! I chuckled when you said you forgot about buying them ;o) I hope we can have a glass of wine outside on the deck before our Thanksgiving dinner. We are in New York where the weather is unpredictable this time of year. Thanksgiving blessings to you!

Ditto to what they said! But also, where did the plates come from?
Thank you for all your kind comments! The plates are from Pier One. The stock was practically nonexistent at our stores. I had to really hunt them down - 3 different stores. I don't know if other stores had a better supply.
This is a great holiday table. So warm with the harvest colors. It looks like you are ready for Turkey Day!
Absolutely beautiful accent plates! They are so unique. I love them!

I really like the simplicity & charm of your table. It's just lovely.
I'm not sure, but I think AZ is the only place for Saguaro cacti. If that's true, then we are fellow desert rats. I'm a new follower.
