So far this week, I've made homemade tomato and tortilla soup and it isn't even Friday yet. Maybe Manhattan clam chowder for the weekend. WB could eat soup for dinner every single night.
I've been on the hunt for vintage silver. It has been fun. I have enough to mix and match now but this is my favorite (well, at least today it is). It is "Century" by Holmes and Edwards, from the 20's. I especially like the vintage soup spoons.

ahh, the look of fall... pure joy~
Dearest Barbara,
Oh, reading your post makes me so happy! Fond memories from the cold winters in The Netherlands with soup and bread. So special and so comforting for the winter season. Enjoy it and your vintage silver makes for a very special setting. The rest of your autumn décor is likewise special.
Love to you,
Mariette
Wonderful warm and welcoming. I love the muted fall colors...your wall hanging become an important player in the design, too. Wonderful treasure. I wish that I could run next door and ask you photography questions all the time. Wish that you would consider adding photo tips to your own pics that you include in your blog posts....kind of a photography for dummies segments each time.. I'm pretty much at the point where I'd ask a question if I knew which question to ask. Thank you for inviting us to the table and for stopping by for a visit. Come any time. Cherry Kay

What a wonderful tablescape! I love the vintage silver you're collecting as well as the china and goblets. This is just the perfect fall table, simple and elegant. The quilt in the background and the wooden bowl as a centerpiece finish it off to perfection. And if your green soup bowls go missing, you might look in a magpie's nest! ;-)
XO,
Sheila :-)

Barbara, your table is just devine.....love the mix of the antique and vintage silver flatware!! I am a nut for anything from the 1920'a.....roses and swags, but the more tailored patterns, also. Your soup bowls are certainly to be admired, and like you, I adore soup all the time, if it is homemade. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a warm comment. I am your newest follower.
Thanks for loving my tablescape! You should see what I have planned for November!
Such a beautiful table! It looks like autumn as much as those soups would taste like autumn:)

Soup and your inviting tablescape... Makes me wish I were home tonight rather than one more night on the road. My post tonight mentioned wishing I could have met a few blogging friends on my recent trip "out West." You were the very first one who came to mind! Maybe someday...
Barbara, I just LOVE your photos. I try to analyze them and see what it is I am missing in my own, and for one thing the lighting is just beautiful. Please oh please share with me some photo wisdom!! Love your table too, by the way!!
