neutral palette tablescape...

It seems the hotter it gets, the more I want to have a light palette of colors surrounding me. This is typical of what appeals to me this time of year - tans, white, and just a hint of green. I wasn't happy to see these tulips drooping so soon after purchase but as the day has gone on, I find myself liking them that way. Tulips are irresistible to me, even out of season.

The small plates are a Rae Dunn retail design from years ago. I like the organic feel of these dishes with their uneven edges and bumpy look. I have some other pieces that go with these that will no doubt show up in another tablescape one day.

I am a happy girl if there is a lot of texture on the table.

I hope you are keeping cool this summer!

Please join Susan and all the other tablescapers at Between Naps on the Porch.

I love your table! I agree, the lighter colors do seem cooler on these warm summer days! I love textures too, your placemates/table runner compliment your dishes perfectly! Tulips are one of my favorite flowers. I have them in several of my rooms ~ are are faux but I love them anyway! Thanks so much for sharing.

The napkins give your table that little pop of color that makes you say "wow, beautiful table." Love the white with the neutral woven materials...nice and summery.

Thanks so much for coming by.
Your table is so pretty.

When on your profile page, I clicked on one of your favorite blogs and found the most beautiful iris flowers...I want to order some from her...I am SO not a gardener so I don't know how I will do with them.

Such a summer-time table setting. The textures are fabulous!!! To keep tulips from drooping over, use floral wire around the stems...poke it in the top of the stem, then just wrap around a few times as you move down the stem....keeps their little heads up.

Barbara, I had to comment again after you noted that you were following me around Blogland yesterday! Too funny! I try to systematically visit each tablescape, and I often start at the end and work backwards, just so the later posters will get SOME encouraging comments. I think some visitors run out of time and don't make it to the later posts. Everyone loves to get comments, I think!

Love the texture on the table & the dishes! I think I prefer the loose, open & relaxed tulips. Beautiful & soothing! Thanks for your visit :-)

I agree with all the others who've commented -- great colors and textures! Tulips are amazing flowers, and I think they're very experessive when they decide to "relax" and curve downward over the sides of the vase.

Hope you have an enjoyable weekend.

I love this one, Barbara. The design on the small plates remind me of Tuscany which also has lots of texture.
It's always good to hear from you.

I agree, give me tulips even in the winter. your textures are so appealing. I love your flatware. I am so intrigued by flatware. It would be bad if I had to start collecting it too! The boots were a hit at Girl's Camp, but we had perfect weather without a hint of rain or snow. The week before they said was awful and they even had trees down everywhere. I was glad to keep the boots dry! Have a wonderful Sunday.

Beautiful table! Such lovely unusual tulips. The runner is really pretty! That looks like the Fox theater in Atlanta in the previous post. Linda
