ladybug picnic...

Isn’t it great how a little addition of salad plates can perk up things you already own? The hand painted details and raised ladybug were impossible to resist.

When I bought the plates, I was sure I would use them with a shade of green. I have several and all of them look good with the ladybugs. I also tried them with red plates which also looked good. When I tried the yellow, it just seemed to pop and set that summery mood.
These black wire candlesticks are so versatile. I have used them for formal and informal settings. I have little bits of red in my kitchen and this plant sits on the windowsill. I added a few black dots to the pot to make it look "ladybugish".

I like your ladybug plates. Such a cute setting. It all looks so wonderful on the dark wood of that table. I just scrolled down and saw that table you did last week. I will have you know I was thumbing through the fabric tonight for a red tablecloth and dreaming about getting some blue fabric with stars for some napkins. I gave up on the idea, but I may have to try it next year. I just loved that table. The simplicity and the impact of the colors was perfect.

Red and yellow = one very happy table, and the dots on the pot, well, that's just the finishing detail.

i am most impressed with this I love love love ladybugs... I must find dishes like these... a few years back I kept collecting 2 or 4 of dishes with themes and my grandmother told me stop doing it you will have no place to put them.. I wish I had not listened... my china and dish collection is so small and I am in my 40's.. I guess I better start garage sale hopping... LOL but I do love your tablescape.. THe bob cat picture is so scary.. Did you zoom it??? where do you live? colorado??? I am your newest fan. I learned what a sahuaro is today ... thanks and by the way.. Did you take the picture of the ladybug picnic yourself? my son and I grew ladybugs this year and just released them in May.
take care.

Cute lady bug plates. Just scrolled down and saw the Bob Cat photos....OMGosh how lucky are you to have so much wildlife right in your backyard. I know Bob Cats can be dangerous, but I can only imagine watching them from my home. We were at a local zoo this week, and we spent several minutes watching the Bob Cats play and climb around. What a joy to watch. Thanks for sharing and for stopping by. BTW, I am offering a 200th posting giveaway.
