Winter came back for just a quick goodbye yesterday. It was wondrous. The rain was steady all day and some of the night. We hunkered down with a fire, good food and lots to read. Okay, I was reading and poor WB was working on our taxes. Because wet city reflections are hard to find around here, after it got dark we headed downtown. I don't have much more to say about these photos but I couldn't get enough of the reflection and sparkle.
{I used a 16-35 lens at 2.8 for these.}

Oooh, these are beautiful. Where we live it rains so much that we don't notice those reflections. Thanks for bringing them back to my awareness.
Dearest Barbara,
They look like gemstones those pictures of the wet streets! Beautifully captured, you have an eye for spotting this before capturing it through the lens.
The end of March and early April we've had such rain here...
Lots of love,
Mariette
i love how your passion for photography got you out on a rainy night~
I love, love, love these Barbara! I'm so glad you got out and were able to capture the lovely lights of night.
Love these reflections! Thanks for sharing your camera settings over at Picture Inspiration. I will give it a try, though my ISO max is 1600. I have been noticing many reflections in water these days, but not due to rain. We had record snowfall this winter, and it's melting now (finally!). We have puddles everywhere; much more than usual.
My mama was a child of the Dust Bowl. When the rains finally began to fall again, they would literally go out in the backyard and sleep through the night on the ground. She planted such a love and appreciation for rain in my heart. I've always loved the rain, and I think that's because she taught me that it's such an incredible gift from God. Your pictures touched right where I live. So good to hear from you. You've been missed. Hope that all is well with you! Cherry Kay
These are amazing photos, Barbara, especially those of the wet cobblestones with reflections....Christine

Well that's it now I have to go out the next rainstorm at night to snap pictures!
These are just fabulous, what a wonderful evening to shoot, the rain and the neon just screams out at me to sit and enjoy.
